Thale Noi – Patthalung is a swamp area, one of the largest freshwater lakes in southern Thailand, classified as a ‘Non-Hunting Area’ and protected by the Department of Forestry. Bird-watching is mainly done from boats. Many water birds can be seen at this site including reported sightings of Painted Storks and Black-headed Ibis

<p>More than 200 species of birds make their home in “ Khao Luang National Park ” the  located in the Southern Peninsular province of Nakhon Sri Thammarat.The hill evergreen  and montane forest provide some of the best montane birds habitats in the country and many species found in Khao Luang national park are rare resident and found only in  Southern Thailand.</p>

Over 150 species of birds reside in or visit Koh Yao Noi. And 86 species of Kingfishers worldwide, in Thailand 13 species. Hornbills are primarily fugivorous (fruit eaters) and those found in Koh Yao are resident.
